Once upon a time, when I was a mite of a thing, I became very obsessed with "Pirates of the Caribbean" and spent my college days writing a really ambitious fan fic response to the first film (lo and behold, Ted & Terry stole all my best ideas for the subsequent sequels).  At over 64,000 words, it's still one of the most lauded things I've ever written. 

I had occasion to re-read it, and I was actually pleasantly surprised at how good it was.  Wish I could get paid for actual writing, though (much as I enjoy fan fiction, and it will always hold a special place in my heart). 

I think I wrote it some time in 2005, but it was the piece that got me launcehd on ff.net (and 58 stories later ...).  I've found my old pen-and-ink illustrations for the chapters and picked two of the best.

And yes, I was (am?) a major Jack/Elizabeth shipper in my day ...
